Legendary actress Vera Alentova recently threw a party for her 60th birthday in her "second home" - the Pushkin Theater of Drama, where she has worked since 1965.
According to the daily Zhizn, the party began right after the end of the evening performance, in which Alentova played Caroline Ashley, the main role in Alexei Govorukho's production of "The Unattainable," based on Somerset Maugham's play. Alentova decided not to change out of her stage costume - Ashley's red dress was perfect for the occasion.
Apart from Alentova's husband, actor and director Vladimir Menshov, there were three other men at the party who, at various times, have played her husband: Alexei Batalov (in "Moskva slezam ne verit" [Moscow Doesn't Believe in Tears]), Mikhail Derzhavin and Alexander Shirvindt (in the theater).
"Verochka, my dear," Shirvindt said, while giving Alentova a beautiful bouquet of flowers, "there are a total of four of us (your husbands) present here. I have a good idea: Let's all go together to a marriage registration office and get a certificate."
Alentova's daughter, Yulia Menshova, host of the popular TV program "Ya Sama," was busy giving orders at the buffet room where a table was being prepared.
Actor Armen Dzhigarkhanian, Shirvindt and Menshov entertained the guests with jokes and singer Sergei Nikitin performed the famous song "Alexandra" from "Moskva slezam ne verit."
Alentova got a lot of presents, including a beautiful pendant, a pair of earrings, a ring decorated with precious stones, a Rado watch from her husband and a cell phone from her daughter.
