Actor Dmitry Kharatian is headed back to school, the weekly 7 Dnei reported. He and his older daughter Sasha are finishing their second year at the Institute of Economics and Statistics, with a major in finance and crediting. The only difference between them is that, unlike his daughter, who is a full-time student, Kharatian is taking classes by correspondence.
What prompted the actor to go back to school at the age of 42, and why did he choose finance? The answer is very simple: necessity. Recently, Kharatian decided to try producing the film "Atlantida" (Atlantis), and discovered how much more he needed to know about economics.
Not surprisingly, as he's always preferred liberal arts, Kharatian says his favorite subjects in the institute are those "where there are fewer figures and numbers," such as, for example, those related to analysis, auditing and monitoring business activities. Despite his time constraints, Kharatian is determined to finish the course ahead of schedule and has already chosen a topic for his graduate work. Using his own production company as an example, he will do "an economic feasibility study for a modern moviemaking company."
