Russian ballerina Anastasia Volochkova has married British lawyer Anthony Kerman, the daily Zhizn reported. A modest wedding was arranged in London, with the relatives and close friends in attendance told not to talk it over too much. This is understandable, given that the dust has not settled yet over Kerman's recent divorce.
Kerman, 56, is a multimillionaire, vice president of the National Ballet of Great Britain and the lawyer representing the interests of the Queen and pop star Sting.
Volochkova and Kerman met three years ago when the ballerina was in London on tour. Kerman fell in love with the 26-year-old star at first sight and has since been bombarding her with expensive presents, including a luxurious apartment in London. He has also invested huge money in her PR campaign and pulled strings for her to get prestigious roles with the National Ballet. To marry Volochkova, Kerman left his wife of more than 20 years, with whom he has two children.
The "friendship that is stronger than love," as Volochkova put it, could have continued for several years, had it not been for one thing. Early this summer, Volochkova accepted an offer to star in a Russian movie, "The Legend of Anastasia Slutskaya," which contains quite a few erotic scenes. Having learned of this, Kerman sped up his divorce, and the moment he got his freedom he rushed to Moscow and proposed to Volochkova.
