LOS ANGELES "He was a boy, she was a girl. Can I make it any more obvious?" Sound like the premise to a blockbuster movie? Hollywood movie executives think so. According to MTV news, Paramount pictures heard the aforementioned lyrics from pop star Avril Lavignes hit single "Sk8er Boi" and quickly snatched the tunes story to make a feature-length film.
Lavignes song, which was written by a team of professional songwriters, tells about a ballet-dancing high school girl who rejects a skateboarding punk boy because her friends dont like the boys "baggy clothes." Needless to say, the girl makes the wrong decision and five years later, she ends up being the reject as she sits at home alone feeding her baby.
The skater boy, on the other hand, is busy "rockin up MTV," meaning hes become quite a successful commercial musician. Finally, we learn that Lavigne and the skater boy, I mean sk8er boi, are in love because they "rock each others world."
Ahhh
the Screenwriters Guild must be proud.
