MOSCOW - Aeroflot will announce a tender for buying short-range aircraft by the end of June 2004, a representative of the company told RBC having reiterated that previously the company was planning to announce this tender in February 2004. Probably, the tender will be announced at the beginning of next week, the representative pointed out. According to the new conditions of the tender, Aeroflot needs aircraft with a capacity of up to 100 passengers and a range of up to 2,500 km. The company needs to buy some 40 aircraft of this kind.

As reported earlier, previously Aeroflot declared that it was going to ask the government to allow the company to import short-range aircraft on a duty-free basis.
