TBILISI - The results of the ongoing talks between Georgia and Abkhazia depend on Georgian authorities, newly elected Abkhaz President Sergey Bagapsh announced. "We are ready to talk with Georgia as two equally independent states," he emphasized. Other approach is impossible.
This announcement was voiced after Bagapsh's trip to Moscow, where he held consultations with Russian leaders. At the same tame Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said addressing the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, that it was impossible to hold negotiations with Abkhazia.
As Bagapsh announced addressing journalists, in Moscow he discussed the issues related to the development of the Abkhaz economy. Among other issues, the two parties addressed the resuming of railway transportation linking Russia to Abkhazia. Armenia is interested in this project, too.
