MOSCOW — The Council of foreign ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are meeting in Moscow today. The meeting will be chaired by Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov. The ministers will discuss measures to improve and reform CIS bodies, as well as a draft agreement on humanitarian cooperation of the CIS countries and a draft agreement on cooperation in staff training.
Draft regulations for the bureau for coordinating efforts in fighting organized crime in the CIS are also on the agenda, along with an agreement on cooperation in the fight against human trafficking, trafficking in human organs and tissues, and amendments to the regulations for the intergovernmental council for emergency situations.
The CIS foreign ministers will also consider documents to be discussed at a CIS summit in Kazan on August 26.
