Polls show, Russians uneager to work for foreign companies

MOSCOW — About 48 percent of Russians would not like working for foreign companies, polls held by the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion and Research (VTsIOM) have shown. 21 percent of those polled would never agree to such a proposal, though 41 percent of Russians would like to be employed in a foreign company. Every tenth said he/she did not know what to answer.

The largest numbers of those who would like to work for a foreign firm live in Moscow and St. Petersburg (75 and 66 percent, respectively). The main reason for this choice is high wages that are paid on time. Those who dislike this idea, say that we need to develop our industry (17 percent) or it is not patriotic (16 percent). Every fifth (19 percent) of those who declined to work for a foreign firm found it difficult to name the reason, the survey carried out on July 9-10 in 153 towns and cities has shown. 1,597 people were polled.
