‘No need to devalue'

Russian Central Bank Chairman Viktor Gerashchenko said he saw no need to devalue the ruble as export revenues were strong enough to keep the national currency stable. Many economists, including International Monetary Fund and World Bank representatives, have voiced concern that the real appreciation of the ruble and rising inflation could slow down Russia's recent strong economic growth.
