On April 26 the famous 4:33 band headed by Alexey Aigy will offer their new program of minimalist, meditative and other kinds of alternative music at the Dom cultural center this week. The band's popularity has grown high recently due to the successful career of Alexey Aigy, whose movie soundtracks ("Metropolis", "Dom na Troobnoi") are widely known.

On April 27th, a Polish Trio (Marek Choloniewski, Wlodzimierz Kiniorski and Krzystof Knittel) will offer something super experimental since these musicians are interested in new technologies in music, sound reproduction and new jazz.

On Saturday, April 29th, the American pianist David Holzman will play music by contemporary composers Raul Pleskov, Elinor Kory, Stefan Volpe, Davidovsky and others. Although the concert's title ("Quite an academic piano") promises something traditional you will hear modern jazz elements in those sonatas and waltzes. David Holzman is the winner of many international competitions and was nominated by New York Magazine one of the most brilliant discoveries of the season of 1991.

Finally, on Sunday, April 30th, the bands Vetrophonia (St. Petersburg), Membranoidy (Kaliningrad) will perform noise music.

All these events are the parts of the "ALT-2K/Alternative -2000" music festival that will continue in May.

The concerts start at 19.00. Tickets are on sale at the Dom center box-office (Bolshoy Ovchinnikovsky Pereulok 24/4). Tel. 953-7236.
