Exposition of the Jewelry Gallery "Golden Rooms".
About 1,500 golden items dated from the VII century BC till the XX century, put into 3 sections: "Gold of the Ancient Nomads" with the renowned Siberian collection assembled by Peter I and the world-famous collection of Scythian gold; "Greek Gold from the Black Sea North Littoral", from the VI century BC till the III century AD; "The Jewelry Art of the Orient and the New World dated from the XVI - the beginning of the XX centuries" - unique products of Indian craftsmen, Chinese jewels, samples of toreutics from Pre-Columbian America, etc.

The exhibition is organized by the State Hermitage and Faberge Arts Foundation (Washington - St. Petersburg). Over 100 artistic jewels from the collections of Military-Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal Corps, palace-and-park ensembles Tsarskoye Selo, Peterhof, Pavlovsk, the Elaginoostrovskiy Palace-Museum, private collections of John A.Traina Jr., San Francisco and La Vieille Russie, New York, and
also FORBES Magazine collection.

Over 600 items of Russian and West-European decorative and applied art, graphics, paintings,
harbored in new exhibition halls of General Staff building - former office of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russian Empire. Some of the
interiors keep preserved the decoration made to the design of the famous architect who created
the building, Carlo Rossi.

The exhibition in the new building acquired by The Hermitage Museum - General Staff. Unique decorative compositions: Bonnard's triptych "At Mediterranean" (1911) and a series of panels by Denis "Psyche's Story" (1908-1909), made by the order of a Muscovite collectioner, I.A.Morozov, are worth special attention.

Quite unusual as of its scale, the exposition embraces the whole variety of works by the remarkable Russian painter. Displayed are paintings and graphics by K.Briullov from the collection of the Russian Museum, Tretyakov's Gallery, and some foreign collections.

A review on life and creative activity of a remarkable poet of the end of the XIX - beginning of the XX centuries, who published his verses signed by initials "K.R.". K.Romanov was the last Grand Duke - owner of the Marble Palace.

Exhibition to mark the 90th anniversary to the museum, in memory of its founders and first employees. Rare items of the XVIII - the beginning of the XX centuries are shown, from the collection of the Museum of St. Petersburg History: one of the best in St. Petersburg, collection of last century's restaurant menus, St. Petersburg artisans guild banners of the XVIII-XIX centuries, details of ancient constructions, furniture collection, porcelain ware, architectural drawings by G.Guarenghi, painted St. Petersburg landscapes etc.

of the oldest districts of St. Petersburg - Smolninsky (now merged with the Central District). Items from the collection of the Museum of St. Petersburg History tell about the history of the place: paintings, graphics, photographs, postcards, documents, uniform fittings and arming, excavated finds from the XVII century - the beginning of the XX century.

Variety of exhibits from the collection of the Museum of St. Petersburg History makes you feel the air of the city and its inhabitants during the years of New Economical Policy (1921-28). Among them: rarity collection of posters and placards, paintings and drawings by Pavel Filonov's school disciples, and many more. Typical interior details are restored, e.g. cinema hall where documentaries and cinema fiction of 1920s were to watch.

Child's world is shown on the background of political, social, and
economical processes of 1920-30s. Documents, photos, toys, children clothing, books, drawings, paintings, graphics, sculpture. About 1000 items from the Museum of St. Petersburg History, Central State Archive for Historical and Political Documents, and private collections.

To the 50th anniversary of the machine-gun AK-47 acceptance
for the army, and the 80th birthday of M.T.Kalashnikov. Offered to the public is a unique collection of automatic weapons by the famous constructor - from the first model of sub-machine-gun as of 1942 to the advanced modifications of tommy-gun and heavy machine-guns, exploited by armed forces of Russia and 100 countries more; also sporting guns based on Kalashnikov's technical principle.

The exhibition traces the evolution of ornamenting in the XVI-XVII centuries, with different materials and techniques. 164 applied art items: enamels from Limoges, Italian majolica, tapestry, furniture, embroidery, silver, armaments, jewelry, leather- and metal ware.

Celebration of the White Rose.
White Rose was an emblem
of the Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna, Princess Charlotte of Prussia who married Nicholas I. On June 13, 1829, princes of Prussia arranged a White Rose Tournament with fancy-dress ball, to honor her. The exhibition offers an album-present "The Magics
of the White Rose" ordered by Friedrich Wilhelm IV by the 25th anniversary of the festivity, which includes 10 watercolors by Adolf Menzel and a poem by Christian Friedrich Scherenberg, "Blanchefleur". Other exhibits are silver items (a beaker, a rose branch, rose in the pot, and rose-shaped insignia), notebook of Alexandra Fyodorovna used during the tournament, and her portrait.
